Dublin Pub Offers 20% Lunch Discount To Those Who Will Hand Over Their Phones

It's getting more and more difficult to put down the phone and stop checking your email, messages, Instagram and Twitter when spending time with friends but one Dublin pub is providing a nice little incentive. The Old Spot in Dublin 4 is vowing to give a 20 per cent discount to those who surrender their phones during Sunday lunch in an effort to resurrect the old tradition of concentrating on your company, rather than your wi-fi signal, while you dine. The gastropub launched the initiative on Twitter earlier today and has received a positive reaction from the bar's followers.

The move comes a month after Galway pub Whiskey's offered punters a free drink on Saturday nights if they agreed to leave their phone behind the bar for 30 minutes.
