Dublin woman assaulted on her way to work

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to an incident in which a woman was assaulted.

The woman, in her 30s, was walking to work yesterday morning around 6.45am.

According to reports by RTÉ, the woman was walking close to the Seatown Road and the Seatown Roundabout in Swords, Co Dublin.

The woman was assaulted by a man in a grey hoodie.

She managed to break away from the attacker and was aided by a cyclist.

She received minor injuries during the incident but is said to be “very shaken.”

According to The Independent, Gardaí are not yet clear if the motivation for the attack was robbery or sexual assault.

CCTV footage had been obtained from the area.

Gardaí are appealing for any witnesses who may have been in the area to contact them at Swords Garda Station on 01 666 4700.
