Dundrum Town Centre turns into “winter wonderland” for Christmas

Dundrum Town Centre has turned into a "winter wonderland" for Christmas. Launching their new experimental festive theme 'Welcome to New York,' the centre has been transformed into a space for festive fun, including a new installation based on New York City. The new feature includes a miniature scale model city of NYC, with a walk-through model Manhattan and some of New York’s most iconic buildings such as the Empire State Building, One World Trade Centre, Times Square, and Saks Fifth Avenue. Those among us who usually head State-side for Christmas will be particularly delighted to hear of the new installation, which also includes lit seating areas to relax and have a coffee, some food, and have a socially distant time with some friends. Elsewhere, the centre's Pembroke square will become a winter wonderland featuring a series of festive fixtures such as a giant Christmas bauble and a giant Ferris Wheel, a portion of proceeds of which will go to the LauraLynn Foundation – Ireland’s Children’s Hospice.

The square will also be home to Sony’s Peter Rabbit II themed Christmas windows, depicting four scenes from the film.

As well as this, three Christmas market stalls will be offering refreshments, nibbles and crafts from Dunne & Crescenzi, Nock Nock Café and Vegan Goods, and Alphabet Jigsaw. Krispy Kreme will also be making an appearance in an NYC style Rocket Food truck in the middle of the square, selling a range of their iconic donuts and fresh coffee. Dundrum Town Centre reopened in line with government guidelines on December 4. Its restaurants and café's reopen today (December 4) for indoor dining. “We’re very much looking forward to welcoming back our retailers, food & beverage tenants and customers to the Centre again ahead of the Christmas trading period," said Don Nugent, Centre Director at Dundrum Town Centre. "This year, we’re excited to launch our new outdoor Christmas experience ‘Welcome to New York’, which is an amazing experiential setting spread across Town Square and Pembroke Square, there is something for everyone to enjoy! "We have put in place unique features like ‘Crowd Checker’ on our website and extensive safety and hygiene measures outdoors and indoors to ensure everyone this festive season has a safe and enjoyable experience with us as nothing matters more to us than the safety and wellbeing of our colleagues and customers.”
