Eight incredible Irish castles you can rent on Airbnb right now

We previously told you all about the Irish pub that you can rent via Airbnb – and the deadly Caribbean island you could call dibs on.

But these latest listings on the house sharing site definitely take the cake.

It turns out you can rent a number of castles throughout Ireland for you and your pals to stay in – provided you’re willing to splash the cash.

Here are eight of the most amazing estates you can rent on Airbnb right now.

Turin Castle

Turin Castle is a unique medieval castle that guarantees a one of a kind Airbnb experience.

The luxurious castle, which can accommodate up to 12 people, is settled in the Co Mayo countryside – and costs an eye watering €900 per night.

The regal rental have five bedrooms and is the only privately owned medieval castle with en-suites.

And it’s won over previous guests, with the castle getting a 4 1/2 star rating on Airbnb.

But anyone hoping to stay at Turin must have no problem with steps – there’s 80 steps from the bottom of the castle to the very top.

Dunleckney Manor

Dunleckney Manor is the perfect base to explore around Kilkenny and Carlow.

The 10 bed Gothic manor was first built on the site in the 1600s – before the ‘new’ location was built in the 1830s.

Prices for the spacious setting, located in Muine Bheag, Co Carlow, begin at €1,839 a night.

Parts of the manor have since been restored to their original designs, including the grounds – which features parkland, ancient trees and a pond.

The luxurious letting can hold up to 15 people in eight bedrooms, and it also boasts a heated indoor swimming pool and a massive treehouse in the grounds.

Blackwater Castle

Blackwater Castle is nestled in on a 50 acre wooded estate,  just a couple minutes walk away from the heritage village Castletownroche, North Cork.

Guests can become the Lord or Lady if their own medieval castle alongside their family and friends in the one of a kind letting.

The castle, which can accommodate more than 16 people across nine bedrooms, also comes with a fully equipped kitchen and a private bar.

And there’s plenty of locations to explore across the 50 acre estate, with thousands of  years of history on site.

Prices to stay at Blackwater Castle begin at €2,500 for just 24 hours, before moving to €3,000 for three days and two nights, and then €4,000 for four days and three nights.

Ballindooley Castle

Ballindooley Castle is one of the newest ones to join the house sharing site after it first posted this month.

The castle, believed to have built in the late 15th century, can host up to seven people in three bedrooms.

And the mammoth Co Galway rental  is perfect for the cosy nights in as as it boasts an indoor fireplace – perfect for when the nights get colder.

Prices to stay at Ballindooley Castle begin at €1,400 a night.

But you may be waiting awhile – the next available date is December 23.

Durhamstown Castle

A stay in Durhamstown Castle is an experience you’re unlikely to forget any time soon.

The mammoth manor can hold up to 16 guests across eight bedrooms – and costs around €1,190 per night for a two night minimum stay.

The estate, which dates back to 1420, is the oldest continuously inhabited house in Co Meath – making it a Recorded Monument.

And there’s plenty of changes that have been made to Durhamstown Castle over the last few centuries – taking guests form the Middle Ages to the Victorian Era in just a few steps.

It’s been earning glowing reviews from previous guests, with many people praising hosts Sue and Dave for their hospitable nature.

Wilton Castle

Wilton Castle has been called the “most amazing Airbnb in Ireland” – and it’s easy to see why.

The 19th century home is set on the banks of the Boro River, making sure guests have breathtaking views throughout their stay.

And the Wexford castle, which has a two night minimum stay, has become a hit with previous guests – getting 5 star ratings all around.

Previous guests have praised the enormous estate, with some even admitting it inspired them to change their trip itinerary – because they were enjoying the castle too much.

The luxurious letting, which can sleep up to 14 people, costs a minimum of €1,000 a night.

Lisheen Castle

Lisheen Castle in Co Tipperary is the perfect getaway for anyone looking for a luxurious stay – but still have the more modern comforts.

The regal rental, which can hold more than 16 people, costs a minimum of €997 a night.

And the hosts note that Lisheen Castle is “decorated and furnished to ensure that our guests can enjoy the splendour of former years without compromising on the comforts of today” – making the ideal mix of classic and modern.

The location has nine bedrooms, eight of them ensuites, as well as  a kitchen fitted to the “highest catering standard”.

And – as the weather starts to turn colder – Lisheen Castle has some cosy “open turf fires” in all of the reception rooms.

Springfield Castle and East Tower

Springfield Castle is located on a luxurious 200 acre estate in Co Limerick.

The spectacular sprawling location can host up to 25 people – 15 in the castle and 10 in the East Tower – across 13 bedrooms in both buildings. 

And there’s plenty activities on site for guests to enjoy, with a soccer pitch, a tennis court, a pool table and BBQ areas all located on site.

Springfield Castle costs around  €1,350 per night – with a minimum stay of two nights during the off season and one week during the high season.

They also cater for smaller weddings, for groups up to 60 people.
