They have been around for decades, but now there has been a surge in interest in the style, stemming from Meghan Markle's ring. Prince Harry had the ring custom made with a diamond he sourced from Botswana and two others from Princess Diana's personal collection.
We already know that the jeweller who made Meghan's ring has refused to make any replicas, but that's not to say other brands won't try their best to do so.
We can expect to see lots more of them in the year to come.
Speaking about this type of ring, Grant Mobley, a gemologist and Director at Pluczenik, one of the world’s leading diamantaires, told us:
"Three stone rings are a classic style that will never go out of fashion. They have been around for a number of decades, but their popularity has increased significantly in the last few months due to some recent high-profile engagements such as Meghan Markle."Commenting on Meghan's ring he said:
