Zuckerberg must just have been receiving thousands upon thousands of emails a day, or else Facebook are just very eager for new revenue streams.

We just didn’t think they’d be this eager.

If you to send Mark Zuckerberg, the founder and CEO of Facebook a message, the social network will offer to keep the message out of his ‘Other’ inbox for a steep $100.

Website Mashable.com tested the feature from several different Facebook accounts and it seemed only his non-followers were offered the feature. Although this could have just been a coincidence.

Facebook-lovers will see this as another step in Facebook’s keen-for-revenue plan, alongside their $1 pay-to-message feature that the network has been experimenting with for months.

Facebook have begun to experiment with pay-for-messages features.

The company did say at the time that they would be experimenting with other prices soon.

The ‘Other’ inbox is Facebook's dumping ground for all messages it guesses you won't want to read urgently. It’s a controversial feature as most users aren’t even aware of its existence and many have reported finding messages they really would have preferred at the time, such as job offers.

One Facebook spokesperson said: "We are testing some extreme price points to see what works to filter spam."
