Everyone Is Texting Their “Text-Door Neighbour” And People Aren’t Being Receptive

We say if your text-door neighbour doesn't text back by the end of the day, ring them and see what the problem is.

Megan Cassidy

In case you didn’t know, you have a text-door neighbour.

It’s 2016 and a sad fact is that not many people knock in to their next door neighbours with an apple crumble and a big smile.

However, the new year has seen people become quite forward when it comes to introducing themselves to their “text-door neighbour”.

It’s less awkward, less effort, but no less creepy.

Just to clarify, your text-door neighbour is the person with an almost identical phone number to yours, except their last digit is the one lower, according to The Metro.

For example, if your number is 0837777777, your neighbour’s is 0837777776.

However, before you introduce yourself, we feel it’s our duty to warn you that people don’t always respond too warmly.

Exhibit A, this person who threatened legal action.
