"To help people stay connected to the friends and experiences they care about, we are rolling out a new feature that surfaces open Wi-Fi networks associated with nearby places".According to reports, the feature is currently being tested and has yet to officially roll out but at least it's happening.

It's important to note that this new and pretty cool feature will allow you to see the public places around you that have free wifi, and will provide you with estimated distances to each one.
Now, we know that you can get separate apps to do this for you but having it built into Facebook would be much better than trying to add another app to your already full phone memory.Explore more on these topics:
