A United Nations dignitary was left seriously red-faced after he tweeted a picture of himself with Bono. No, he wasn’t embarrassed because he had MET Bono, he was embarrassed because his Bono wasn’t actually the REAL Bono – it was just a lookalike.
Metro reports that Vuk Jeremic, the President of the General Assembly was absolutely morto after he shared the picture of himself and “Bono” on Twitter and his followers informed him that his new BFF was just a lookalike. Awks.
“I thought it was Bono,” confessed Vuk after his gaffe was exposed in the Serbian press.
Vuk had, in fact, met Pavel Sfera, a full-time professional Bono lookalike. Pavel bills himself as the number one Bono lookalike in the world and never appears in public out of Character (much like the real Bono).
“I’m often stopped by fans and it reminds me of how much respect and honour people hold him in,” said Pavel.
Vuk has since deleted his embarrassing Tweets. We'd probably do the same to be fair.
