The record currently stands at 15, 111 which was broken in Seoul, Korea, we need families, singers and choirs to sign up to help us break this record. Croke Park will be transformed into a winter wonderland, with real snow, over 100 Christmas trees.
Two charities will benefit from the event:
Cliona’s Foundation
The driving force behind the event is Richard Mulcahy, who appeared on Secret Millionaire last year, in the show he went to Limerick and picked a charity called Cliona’s Foundation which was set up in 2007 by Brendan and Terry Ring after their child Cliona died from an inoperable brain tumour. They help families with terminally and chronically ill children by providing financial assistance. Families spend so much money on medication, travelling for appointments, and all the other costs that you incur with sick children…they then sometimes have added emotional stress by not being able to afford the simple things
To date they have helped more than 150 families, including Donal Walsh the young boy who died from cancer recently and was a huge inspiration for teenagers and indeed adults throughout the country and raised In excess of €350,000. They have also helped the family of Sarah Crowe who has a rare syndrome that limits her life expectancy and leaves her unable to move her limbs..
The Sanctuary
Founded by Sr. Stanisluas Kennedy, the Sanctuary is a meditation centre in Dublin's city centre. Its vision is to be stillness in the world. In our stressful, frantic world the Sanctuary brings peace, calm and hope through its programmes, courses and activities offered to thousands of people of all ages, including some of the most vulnerable young people in our society.
