Feeling a Bit Frazzled? Today is the Day When Christmas Indulgence Catches Up on Us

Are you feeling a little sluggish today? Don’t worry because you’re not alone. Today is officially Frazzled Friday – the day when our festive overindulgences finally start to get the better of us, apparently.

According to a new report, today is the day when reality also starts to hit us. Today most of us will curl up on the sofa and dig into another tin of Roses as we struggle to come to terms with the fact that, due to our Christmas indulgences, we’ll probably be broke throughout the month of January. Nice, right?

And, as if Frazzled Friday couldn’t get worse enough, the report also highlighted that the average Irish adult will have piled on 4lbs by today.

One in four of us will also take stock of our bank balances post-Christmas for the first time today, with more than one third expecting to be severely overdrawn.

“Too much booze, food and family combined can leave us feeling tetchy at a time when we are supposed to be full of the joys of Christmas,” said a spokesperson for the report.

“The perfect tonic for a Frazzled Friday is some quiet time alone in front of a good  movie when you can switch off from family with a bit of selfish escapism,” the spokesperson added.

Given the fact that today is a miserable, chilly one, we think that it’s probably best to beat the post-festive-season-blues by relaxing with a decent boxset or a film for the afternoon.
