Are you heading to your other half’s office Christmas party this year? If so, you better keep an eye on him because according to a new survey, the vast majority of people meet their ‘little bit on the side’ at their annual work do.
The Huffington Post reports that the survey, which was carried out by naughty extra-marital website AshleyMadison.com, revealed that out of the 23,455 people polled, 46 per cent of men and 37 per cent of women admit that they’ve had an affair with a co-worker.
And you want to know what’s even more shocking? Of the people who admitted to having an affair with a colleague, 72 per cent of women and 59 per cent of men confessed that they had their first encounter with their ‘little bit on the side’ at their work Christmas party. Ooo-err!
So why are Christmas parties a breeding ground for sneaky shifts and raunchy romps? Well according to the founder of Ashley Madison, they offer an “informal atmosphere.”
“[They] offer an informal atmosphere, and when mixed with alcohol and pent-up sexual tensions between two colleagues, it’s a recipe for disaster,” said Noel Biderman.

89 per cent of men and 83 per cent of women have regularly thought about having an affair with the person at the desk next to them, and a further 94 per cent of men and 96 per cent of women have had sexual fantasies about someone in their office.
