It’s always heartbreaking when a beloved family pet has to be put down, but this kind-hearted owner made sure to give his dying dog a fantastic send off.
The Huffington Post reports that Lennox, a dog who had severe cancer and debilitating arthritis, had already survived numerous major surgeries, but a recent tumour had left him in a lot of pain and barely able to move. It was decided that the most humane thing to do would be to end Lennox’s suffering. However, before Lennox was put down, his owner decided to give him one last treat: namely an epic meal fit for a king.
In this image, which was posted to photo sharing website Reddit.com, Lennox is seen looking over his last meal which includes a turkey leg, bacon, sausages and rice. The picture itself received more than 24,000 likes on the website.

Lennox and his amazing last meal
“This post isn’t meant to be sad in any way. He [Lennox] lived like an absolute boss all his life! And the meal reflects that!” said user Nikolaoss, who shared the picture on the website.
Dozens of users wished Lennox well and shared heartfelt memories of their own pets who had to be put to sleep. They also offered condolences to Lennox’s owner.
“I know a lot of people here don’t believe in heaven, but I think we all believe there is somwhere to go. He shall be put to sleep and his suffering will pass. In an instant his energy will burst out of his body with all the love that has been poured on him for years and it will be free,” wrote one user.
Nikolaoss later posted the following video of Lennox enjoying his last meal. Dogs suffering from cancer need a diet that is high in protein and fat to help combat weight loss and encourage their appetite and this feast has everything a sick little dog could want.
Nikolaoss returned to the website and shared the news that Lennox had passed away peacefully.
