Strong, not skinny.

Fitness blogger Amie-Jane Ward’s recent side-by-side photo has gone viral because of the important message shared.

Amie, ‘a full time working mum, a partner, a food lover and fitness addict’ wanted to show that the pictures you see on social media are not always reflective of real life.

Sharing the below snaps, the Buckinghamshire native explained that these photos are ‘not her’ and she’s overexaggerated her poses in both to make a point.

She explains:

“I have forced my hips forward to give myself hip dips and the illusion of being bigger then what I am and the other is me pushing my hips back to give myself some shape! None are bad!! But none are me!!

“What’s the point in this post you may say?! Well always remember we can create the way we look by the different ways we position our body!”

Both of these pictures are over exaggerated! They are both not me! Not how you would see me normally! For one I would definitely have more clothes on ? anyway one picture I have forced my hips forward to give myself hip dips and the illusion of being bigger then what I am and the other is me pushing my hips back to give myself some shape! None are bad!! But none are me!! What’s the point in this post you may say?! Well always remember we can create the way we look by the different ways we position our body! Some days I look in the mirror standing weirdly and think wow I look big there then I turn a different way and think I look good ?Different angles, lighting, posed can shape us in a way we are not 100%!! Just always remember to love yourself no matter what you look like it’s how you feel that will determine you happiness in life! No body is perfect we are all imperfectly perfect ? .. .. .. .. #happy #love #tuesday #transformationtuesday #transformation #beautiful #instafit #instagood #fitfamuk #fitspo #motivation #fitnessjourney #reality #fitnessblogger #physique #real #girlsthatlift #fitnessgirl #girlswhosquat #bikinifitness #gainingweightiscool #bodybuilding #squats #inspiration #fitnessmotivation #strengthfeed #myprotein #gains #like4like

Amie went on to say that other factors influence how photos appear and that lighting, angles and certain ‘poses’ can all have a major impact.

“Just always remember to love yourself no matter what you look like it’s how you feel that will determine you happiness in life! Nobody is perfect we are all imperfectly perfect”.

There are a number of other body-positive messages on her Instagram account but it’s the above post, in particular, that has gone viral.

‼️ HIGH WAISTED vs LOW WAISTED ‼️ So here I am literally 30seconds apart and a little pull down of the leggings! Same girl, same day, same minute! People will comment “oh another attention post” ?? little do they know that the lower part of my stomach & hips ‘love handles’ WERE my biggest insecurity on my body! The one thing I would constantly try and cover up with high waisted erryyythanggg! And no not just because that’s where I mainly store my fat but also because I have stretch marks from being pregnant! ? I love being honest with you guys showing you that clothing, posing, posture, lighting can change the look of someone’s body. High waisted gives the illusion of curves and just tucks everything together… where as low waisted if tight can dig into my hip fat and make it bulge which can see unflattering… But both are completely fine I just feel more comfortable in high waisted! — I am working hard to get to where I wanna be for myself not for anyone else & I started this fitness account firstly to motivate myself to carry on and see my own progress but I am also so happy that I have been able to help inspire & motivate others & help others who are not confident about themselves. ? i will always be honest with you guys because I believe you deserve to see what is real! ?I can guarantee that the girls you are inspired by on social media have or have had parts of their body they dislike. We all do… hey we girls! But we can change that with a little hard work and dedication in time you will be closer to the body you want but only you can do it & remember it’s not an over night things it’s gonna take time but I guarantee you will fall in love with the process. ✌? here’s to high waisted leggings & hard work ? HAPPY MONDAY xoxo • • • • #girlsthatlift #fitfamuk #fitnessgirl #girlswhosquat #fitspo #mondaymotivation #instafit #booty #bikinifitness #strongnotskinny #gainingweightiscool #bodybuilding #cleaneating #transformation #reality #loveyourself #inspiration #fitnessmotivation #instadaily #monday #gymshark #strengthfeed #happy #gains #love #motivation #like4like
