Food High Five - Five Foods That Are Good For Your Skin
Every week, for our ‘Food High Five’ series, we’re going to talk about food that has great health benefits.
This week, we're looking at foods that are good for your skin.
From fish to chocolate, there are plenty of things that you can eat that will keep your skin feeling great and looking healthy.
Nuts in general are great for your skin but almonds and Brazil nuts in particular. Almonds contain Vitamin E which defends against sun damage while Brazil nuts prevent blemishes and age spots.
There is a great deal of protein in Greek yoghurt which helps keep your skin smooth and prevents wrinkles as well as premature lines.
Fish contains zinc which keeps skin soft and repairs damage. It also keeps your sebaceous glands, which produce oil, functioning normally.
The Vitamin C in this fruit gives you a glowing complexion, prevents against blemishes and strengthens the skin.
Cocoa hydrates, making your skin both firm and supple. Chocolate contains antioxidants which are good for you and the caffeine in it can also reduce puffiness.
