Move over Samantha Brick, Laura Fernee could be about to steal your crown in the controversy stakes. Ms Fernee has become a hot topic of conversation after she declared that she is “too beautiful” to work.
Three years ago, Ms Fernee quit her job because she claimed that other women were refusing to take her seriously because they were jealous of her beauty.
Laura, who is from a wealthy family in the Notting Hill area of London, used to work as a scientific researcher until her self-confessed beauty made working impossible.
The 33-year-old has a PhD. However she has been unemployed and living off her parents for the past two years because her female coworkers were jealous of her and her male colleagues kept asking her out.

Appearing on This Morning earlier this week, Ms Fernee said that her beauty made working in an academic environment “traumatic psychologically.”
“...as much as I loved my work, going in to work became very, very difficult because of the psychological impact on me... I would have thought the same but not only in one academic environment, in several academic environments I underwent the same treatment,” she said.
Ms Fernee’s parents now pay for all of her living expenses. While she doesn’t plan on working again, she is thinking about writing a book about her experiences in the hopes that it will help other women who feel like they’re too pretty to work as well.
