The friends and family of the Aston Villa fan who was killed in a hit-and-run are hoping that the club will honour his memory with a minute’s silence during their match on St Stephen’s Day.
Jody O’Reilly, originally from Leixlip in County Kildare, was tragically killed in the early hours of last Sunday morning in a hit-and-run accident in Birmingham.
He moved to England in 2010 to study and over the past three years, attended a number of matches at Villa Park. He had tickets to go watch his team play on the day he died but sadly never made it.
Those closest to him have now launched a campaign in the hope that the football club will hold a minute’s silence for Jody.
