Sometimes it takes a little bit of effort to make a marriage work and Jennifer Garner admits to doing just that.
The down-to-earth actress bucks the celebrity trend of divorce and speaks fondly of her relationship with Hollywood actor, Ben Affleck. She explains that after eight years as a couple, they have mastered living and co-parenting together.
The celebrity pair started dating in 2004 after meeting on the set of 'Daredevil' and tied the knot in 2005. They have three children; Violet, six, Seraphina, three, and Samuel, five months.
“We have gotten better at it [marriage]. It's really fun,” she told USA Today.
“I am probably up in his grill less about stuff. I don't think I'm a particularly controlling person, but I probably work less to make things fit a mould in my head. And he exceeds my expectations anyway.”
The beautiful actress also spoke about her approach to motherhood. She can often be seen out and about enjoying some quality time with her small crew.
However, Garner is honest and admits she struggled to adjust to motherhood after her first daughter was born.
She explained that it was those initial changes and challenges that made her want to play the part of Cindy Green in upcoming movie, 'The Odd Life of Timothy Green'. The film follows the story of a woman who is desperate to become a mother and is unexpectedly blessed with a child.
“Like Cindy, I floundered so much in the beginning. Now I just have crazy, crazy baby love. My husband says that I'm different with my son, but I think I've always been crazy about babies. But he thinks that. What does he know?”
Jennifer stars alongside Joel Edgerton in the fantasy film, 'The Odd Life of Timothy Green'. Peter Hedges directs the Disney family film which is due for release in Ireland on December 7th, 2012.
