RTÉ presenter Gay Byrne is thrilled his 10,000 Facebook friends and is overwhelmed with the positive response to his page.
The former Late Late show host joined the social networking website earlier this year after coaxing from his daughter.
Since the page’s establishment, Gay has made virtual friendships with thousands of his fans and had to publish a third page to accommodate all of the friend requests.
According to The Irish Sun, Gay said: “It really is heart-warming and humbling.

Crona said: “Myself and my husband explained how it worked and we set up the page for him.”
“Everything on that page is his own thoughts and words. I just help with the more technical aspects,” she finished.
