Let’s talk about the X-Factor. How have you been finding it lately? Ever since the last series there have been some major calls on Simon Cowell to revamp the show in order to deal with lagging viewer numbers.
You’ll be pleased to hear that Si has stepped up and we can expect some major changes in the not-too-distant future.
The Irish Sun reports that the X-Factor auditions are set to return to basic auditions, without backing tracks or an audience.
Apparently Simon Cowell ordered these changes in the hopes that they will encourage viewers to return to the show.

Now contestants will have to face the judges in an “intimate setting” and perform completely a-cappella (that is, without any music whatsoever). But that’s not all. Contestants will then have to try and impress the judges at a second audition before a live audience before they get put through to the Boot Camp stage of the show.
“We can confirm the audition rooms will be returning to the X-Factor as one of a number of exciting changes for this year’s show. The a-cappella auditions were classic X-Factor and gave the judges an insight into whether acts were any good,” said a spokesman for the reality TV talent show.
“Fans wanted changes – and we’re going to give them to them,” added a source from the programme.
We wonder if the proposed changes will manage to help the X-Factor to claw back some of its popularity when the next series airs on our telly screens?
