“Get the Girls” – Gather Your Friends and Lend a Hand to the Irish Cancer Society

There are plenty of ways to raise money for charity, you can run a sponsered marathon or take part in a sponsored walk but we think one of the best ways to raise money for a worthwhile charity is to do it with your friends.

The Irish Cancer Society are asking people to help fundraise money for their charity by organising a special get together with friends, and we're here to lend a helping hand by giving you a few tips for the evening.

Last time, we gave you some tips on how to organise the ultimate movie night, this week we are focusing on both helping out the society and getting rid of some of those clothes you no longer want.

The perfect way to clean out that wardrobe is to have a clothes swap evening with the girls. Why not organise to all meet at a certain house, bring some garments you no longer like from the wardrobe and find out if you can get a new home for them.

For every item swapped, you could donate a certain amount to the Irish Cancer Society. 

On top of the above, you could also consider running a small fashion show with the items you are considering swapping. For admission to the fashion show, you could perhaps ask for a small donation from friends.

Any items that are left over could also be donated to the Irish Cancer Society shops where they can sell the garments you no longer want!
