Movie fans may fondly recall the 2006 teen film John Tucker Must Die.

It follows what happens when a guy who is dating multiple girls is caught out and ganged up on by said girls.

It’s a classic of the genre.

If you enjoyed it, you may also enjoy the following story which went viral this week.

Twitter user Ayana The Diva shared her experience of catching her cheating boyfriend and while no-one’s a winner in this story, it’s an absolute doozy.

So far, so good.

Oh no.

Sweet lord.

*Internal screaming* In a feat of remarkable quick thinking, Ayana formulated a plan.

The pair take off together after work, but soon there’s another twist.

Can we just take a minute to appreciate this girl’s dedication to gifs?

Anyway…

The. Actual. Suspense.

The girl turns on our girl Ayana, but hell hath no fury like a woman who’s been two-timed with her neighbour.

Sadly, there’s no master plan to get back at the cheat, à la the movie, as the girl simply walks out, leaving Ayana with her boyfriend.

We need to sit down after that one.

In subsequent tweets, Ayana explains that both she and the other girl were new to the job, which is why her boyfriend didn’t realise they work together.

She promptly threw him out after all of this went down.

She also says that she apologised to the other girl for setting her up, but that a friendship doesn’t appear to be on the cards.

We’re holding out hope that these two can patch things up though – otherwise, how awkward is the next residents’ association meeting going to be?
