Fairytales would have us believe that once we get the bling on our fingers we are in for a happy-ever after filled with the desire of our wonderful Prince Charming.

However, new research has revealed that much like the Britney Spears song, many married women are shouting Gimmie Gimmie More in the bedroom.

The study, conducted by One Poll, revealed that 50 per cent of married women are unhappy with their sex lives and they miss the intimacy they once shared with their partner.

The survey revealed that 70 per cent of men are dissatisfied with the goings-on in the marital bed.

Rosie Freeman-Jones, a spokesperson for the organisation said: “The overwhelming statistic that we got from this survey is that married women and men are not happy with the amount of intimacy in their life.

“It's a very serious position that over half of the wives questioned in all regions of the country have said they are dissatisfied with their marriage because of this.”

The general unhappiness has lead to a large number of people to have an affair outside of their marriage and one in four married people in London have admitted to doing the dirt on their spouses because of boredom.
