It has been one of television's most iconic gameshows... but now it could be facing the chop.
Channel 4's Countdown has had such diastrous viewing figures recently, show bosses are thinking of pulling the show, Daily Mirror reports.
Tuesday's edition of the once-popular gameshow brought in just 260,000 viewers, the lowest in the history of the show.
Speaking to the Daily Mirror, a TV source said: "Countdown is cheap to make but these figures are very worrying.
"The clock is ticking and this signals the beginning of the end. How much longer will they stick with something that has lost so many viewers?"
Countdown was the first show to be broadcast when the channel was launched in 1982.
Richard Whiteley presented the show until he died in 2005. Des Lynam then joined the show, followed by Des O'Connor.

The lovely Carol left the show in 2008.
Carol Vorderman then left the show in 2008. Rachel Riley took over her role with Jeff Stelling as presenter.
The show hasn't settled into a routine since with Stelling leaving in 2009 and in January last year Hewer took over.
Channel 4 have replied to the rumours and said Countdown will remain a core part of its daytime schedule.
