Masterchef: The Professionals – BBC Two (8.00pm)
It might be making the professional chefs shake in their boots but the skills test this evening is bound to get your taste buds tingling. The remaining five have to mould honeycomb into three different dessert decorations. The victorious will then attempt another dish to secure a quarter-final place.

Downton Abbey – TV3 (9.00pm)
For those of you who didn’t catch the series finale already, here it is again. The annual cricket match brings out Robert’s competitive side while the arrival of Violet’s niece causes quite the stir. Matthew and Mary are also keeping secrets.

Grand Designs – Channel 4 (9.00pm)
This week Kevin McCloud is following an architect and his partner who are hoping to transform a joinery workshop into a family home and workspace. But as we have come to expect, not everything goes to plan.

Up In The Air – RTÉ One (9.35pm)
George Clooney and Vera Farmiga star in this comedy drama about a corporate expert who spends most of his time on a plane but finds his world turned upside down both professionally and personally.

Secret State – Channel 4 (10.00pm)
In this new political drama the PM is killed in a plane crash and there is a terrible industrial accident but that’s only the half of it. Gabriel Byrne and Charles Dance star.
