We always knew we had a hidden super power but we didn’t realise that it was this. According to some new research, us women possess the ability to accurately tell whether our man is being faithful or not simply by looking at his face.
Researchers at the ARC Centre of Excellence in Cognition at the University of Western Australia discovered that while women can tell if a man is guilty of infidelity by casting a glance at his face, men lack the same ability when they’re checking out us.
Apparently our ability is all down to how masculine a man looks and we make our judgement based on that.
“More masculine-looking men [were] rated as more probably to be unfaithful and having a sexual history of being more unfaithful,” stated the researchers.
“Women’s ratings of unfaithfulness showed small-moderate, significant correlations with measures of actual infidelity,” the research continued.

Is spotting a cheater really a matter of simply trusting our first impression?
In order to reach these conclusions, the researchers showed 34 men and 34 women colour photographs of 189 people and asked them to rate their faithfulness.
The researchers then compared the answers given to the self-reported sexual histories of the 189 people in the pictures and they discovered that the women were better able to tell who was faithful and who wasn’t.
Oh and the poor men didn’t have a clue. They [wrongly] assumed that the most attractive women were more likely to be unfaithful, even though this wasn’t true.
So basically, we can see if our man is looking more masculine than usual and most times, our suspicions about his faithfulness are actually right. There’s a lot to be said for women’s intuition, eh?
