What do Harry Potter’s wand, a micro pig and a pair of breast implants have in common? They’re just a selection of the incredibly random objects that have been found discarded in hotel rooms last year.
Yes, seriously. Although if we ever found ourselves in possession of Harry Potter’s wand, we’d cling to it for dear life and then sell it on eBay at a later date (don’t look at us like that, we know you’d do the same!)
Anyway, Metro reports that as well as the above objects, hotel cleaners have also come across a winning EuroMillions lottery ticket, a bucket or live crabs and a diamond-encrusted iPhone.
“Each year our lost and found departments provide plenty of revelations,” said Shakila Ahmed, the spokeswoman for the Travelodge hotel chain.
“From keys to a Bugatti, Harry Potter’s original wand, a micro pig, breast implants to a script from a well-known British soap programme, our customers’ left-behinds demonstrate what a cross section of people stay in our 527 hotels,” she added.
No kidding!

Better check under the bed, just in case someone left a pet pig behind...
Some other bizarre items that Travelodge staff have found in their hotels include a box full of 200 Queen Elizabeth masks, a trunk full of chocolate bars and a horse costume from a pantomime.
But what’s the most commonly left-behind item? Unsurprisingly most customers end up leaving a book or two in their hotel room after they have checked out. Last year, Travelodge staff found more than 20,000 discarded books, 7,000 of which were copies of E.L James’ raunchy read Fifty Shades of Grey.
“It’s interesting to see for the first time ever that the most popular books to be left behind in our hotels during the last 12 months have predominately been trilogies and not celebrity biographies and chick-lit books like previous years,” said Ms Ahmed.
Have you ever found any strange items left behind in a hotel room you were staying in? (Keep it clean please!)
