Are you lucky enough to be heading to Electric Picnic next weekend? If so, you might want to keep your eyes peeled for Louis Walsh, because apparently, he absolutely loves getting muddy and having the craic at the picnic. Who knew?
Both Mel B and Gary Barlow were left looking a bit confused on the X-Factor this weekend, when Louis Walsh declared that Electric Picnic is his favourite festival. Apparently the two judges had never heard of the shindig, which has been dubbed Ireland’s answer to Glastonbury.
Louis caused the other judges to laugh out loud on the reality television programme when he insisted that he was a regular festival goer and dropped the name of the Stradbally festival as one of his favourite haunts during the summer months.
“I am a bit of a hippy. I go to gigs and festivals all the time. I go to Electric Picnic,” said Louis.
“It’s not just all boy bands and girl bands in my life. I do have festival clothes – which is wellies and a good anorak with a hood,” he added.
However, not everyone is familiar with Electric Picnic. In fact, Gary Barlow asked Louis if he could explain just what an Electric Picnic is.
The other judges were also shocked at the fact that Louis Walsh actually does go to the occasional festival.
“When Louis told me he goes to festivals I thought he was taking the mick,” said Tulisa, later in the programme.
“Louis Walsh in a tent wearing wellies? Highly unlikely. I’d pay lots of money for that picture,” added Gary Barlow.
If you happen to see Louis splashing around in the muck at this years’ festival, take a snap. Who knows? You could tout it to Gary Barlow and end up making an absolute fortune. Score!
