Heart of Gold – One Little Irish Boy’s Amazing Gesture for his Sister

This gesture of brotherly love will warm your heart.

Rebecca McKnight

Anyone who is lucky enough to have a brother or sister will know; there is nothing like the bond between siblings.

Young Jimmy Crowe knows this too and the love he has for his own sister has inspired a truly heart-warming gesture.

Cliona’s Foundation is a registered charity set up by Brendan and Terry Ring, following the death of their daughter Cliona, from a brain tumour. Cliona’s Foundation, in honour of their daughter, is a charity that uniquely provides financial assistance to families with critically ill children.

Since its launch, Cliona’s Foundation has raised in excess of €400,000 without any Government funding and has helped more than 140 families.

Jimmy Crowe is nine years old and his family have been supported by Cliona’s Foundation in the past, as Jimmy’s big sister Sarah is the oldest living person in the world with Alpers Syndrome. She is still only 11 years of age.

The Crowe family have told their story on The Secret Millionaire and organised fundraisers to raise money so that the Foundation can help other families also.

The Foundation shared the greatest gift from the Crowe family yet on Facebook this week. Sports fan Jimmy had in his possession a hurley, signed by the 2013 All-Ireland winning Clare hurling team. Jimmy decided recently that he too would like to do something to help somebody else like his sister Sarah and so donated his prized hurley in the hope that it can raise some money.

If  you know a collector or business who would like to purchase this prized memorabilia and raise money for an amazing cause at the same time, you can contact Cliona’s Foundation here
