Only last month Samaras carried the young boy in his arms around the Celtic Park pitch after his team beat Dundee United and won the Scottish Premiership.
Samaras scored a penalty in injury time and helped secure his country a place in the knockout stages of the World Cup for the very first time.
After seeing Jay’s video the Greek team offered to fly the little boy and his family out to Brazil for today’s game however when the Beatty’s received confirmation of the goodwill gesture they had already planned a family holiday and sadly could not accept the heartwarming invitation.

During a Brazilian press conference, Samaras sent Jay this sweet message and a signed jersey.
“Jay, I want to thank for you for the strength you give me," he said.
"Your smile and support give strength to everyone in the national team. I hope to see you soon. I’m very, very proud that you are my friend”.
We'll be cheering on Greece for the remainder of the World Cup.
Hat-tip to the Irish Times for this one.
