Her Hero Of The Week Is… This Will Definitely Cause A Few Tears

This is pretty powerful and heart breaking.

Her

Ever wondered where all the good men are gone? Or where are all the gods? So have we.

It’s that time of the week again, ladies…

This week’s #HerHeroOfTheWeek was sent into us by a reader for a very special reason.

Nick Magnotti was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer at the age of 24. The condition started out in his appendix before spreading throughout his abdominal cavity. Nick decided he would live his life to the full, marrying the love of his life, and welcoming a beautiful child into the world last year.

On the 7th January, 27-year-old Nick lost his battle with cancer. Before he died Nick shot a very special video, thanking his wife, friends, and family, for their love and support, before leaving behind a touching message for his then, 7-month-old daughter, Austin.

This video was sent into us by Her.ie reader Katie Lynch, in her email Katie explained that she believed Nick embodied everything that it means to be a hero.

Katie writes: “I believe he is a hero because, he not only was brave and courageous when dealing with Appendix cancer, but also grateful for the fact that god gave him his chance to spend his last moments with the people he loves, that many people are deprived of.

“I may only be 21, and this man only 27, but I think without a shadow of a doubt he represents everything a hero is… he represents many young people who are taken away from their family and friends way too early.”

After watching the powerful video, uploaded to YouTube back in November, we couldn’t agree more.

Nick’s message is very clear, he shows a strong faith and expresses extreme gratitude for everything in his life. The most poignant part of this post is the hundreds of comments left underneath wishing the late father-of-one well. Heartwarming messages from all cultural and religious backgrounds and divides.

Rest in peace, Nick. Thank you to Katie for making sure we acknowledged this heroic gentleman.

Do you know a HERO?

Ladies, every week we will select one complete gentleman to be Her Hero, not without your help of course…

How can you help? Send an image of someone you think is an absolute hero, and if we agree, your entry will get a very deserving and coveted place.

He doesn’t have to be fast, he doesn’t necessarily have to be brave, or have ever been involved in a fight in his life… but it may help.

The picture can be anything, a nice gesture from your boyfriend (providing you have one), a text from your Dad or friend, or even someone lovely you happen to meet on the street. Surprise us!

Send your potential Her Heroes to [email protected] or use the #HerHeroOfTheWeek on Twitter.

Until next week…
