It’s safe to say, the Irish local is going to be jam packed as always this Christmas. But if you’re looking for a quiet pint, you might want to head west, according to the latest research spotted by our brothers over at JOE.ie. Now, the Sunday World, has published data pointing to the west as having the most pubs per person – with Thomas Bibby, CEO of Reg Point of Sale doing all the hard work for us. Taking a list of registered pubs in each Irish town from the Company Registration Office, Biddy then compared them with specific population figures from the last census. So without further ado, here are the top 10 Irish towns with the most pubs per person:

1. Liscannor, Clare
2. Feakle, Clare
3. Lifford, Donegal
4. Waterville, Kerry
5. Doonbeg, Clare
6. Castlegregory, Kerry
7. Cong, Mayo
8. Knocktopher, Kilkenny
9. Ballyvaughan, Clare
10. Sneem, Kerry

Taking the top of the poll was Liscannor, County Clare, who bost having one pub or hotel for every 26 people in the area. On the polar opposite, those in Greystones might be waiting a lot longer for a pint, with the highest ratio of people per pub with at 2,750 people per pub.
