Here’s why one woman is drawing clitoris street art everywhere

Stunning.

clitoris

At least you’ll be able to find it now.

For years upon years, penis graffiti has plagued our streets, school copy books, and the skins of 18-year-olds who pass out drunk at after-seshes.

They’re such a common sight, they’ve almost become normal.

Witnessing a giant penis on a wall down the road was a regular occurrence growing up and yet, for some reason, nobody ever thought to counteract that with a giant vagina.

Or a giant clitoris, for that matter.

That was, until now.

Laura Kingsley is a 24-year-old street artist.

She also likes to draw pretty big clitorises on paths, walls, and general infrastructure wherever she goes.

Laura told Women’s Health magazine that she started her project because she wanted to inform people about women’s anatomy.

Her Instagram account, Clitorosity (get it?) documents the questions people ask while she’s drawing her clitorises.

One lad thought she was drawing hands clapping.

A woman told her she could “spot a clitoris a mile away.”

Laura said that even though sex is so prevalent in popular culture, the clitoris rarely gets a look in.

“We’re encouraged to have sex in everything from ads to magazines to movies, but we don’t have conversations about real anatomy.”

Since beginning her movement, her chalk clitorises have turned up in 18 US states and five countries.

Laura said that the first time a man knew what she was drawing straight away, he shrugged it off and said he only recognised the clitoris because he was a med student.

Despite this, the artist is still going to continue her campaign to teach everybody about female anatomy.

And rightly so.
