In the competitive workplace, it can be very difficult to figure out exactly what you should be getting paid but a new online tool believes it has the answers.

ValueMyCV reads your CV in PDF format and measures up your skills and experience to give you an estimated salary.

The new online tool was dreamed up by job search engine Adzuna and it uses text miming to assess CVs instantly.

Speaking about the new tool, co-founder of Adzuna, Andrew Hunter explained that it took the team over a year to get the exact technology required.

He also said that there are plenty of job opportunities available but people don’t always see them.

“There are a million unemployed and a million jobs, but at the moment people don’t realise what’s available. We’re trying to help solve that problem using new technology.”

“As the first impression your new employer has of you, it is impossible to overstate the importance of the humble CV.

“Spelling mistakes, inconsistent work histories and missing information are all huge red flags for potential employers, and candidates need to take extra care to show their best side to hiring managers if they hope to make it to the interview stage” said Andrew.
