Heston Blumenthal is known for his love of the wacky, but it seems things have gotten even more bonkers in his multi-Michelin star restaurant.
The talented chef has admitted that when it comes to cleaning his palate, there is nothing more useful than a mouthful of tampons to soak up the creaminess of one of his world class favourites, including his famous snail porridge.
According to The Irish Sun, Heston said: “If you drain the moisture from your mouth you experience richness, creaminess and sweetness more intensely and nothing’s more absorbent than tampons.

“It grows and sucks the moisture out and gets wet, swollen and wooly.
“Although, it is quite funny sitting there with a string coming out of your mouth.”
However, Heston was horrified when a reporter suggested he serve them at his restaurant to guests who wished to clean their palates.
“There’s no way I am serving them in my restaurant,” he said gruffly.
Thanks for the sound advice Heston, but we think we’ll be avoiding the tampons in the kitchen, thanks very much.
