The popular show, which has been confirmed for a sixth series, follows the aristocratic Crawley family and their house staff, with trials and tribulations that have gripped audiences through their sometimes controversial story lines.
The show’s creator Julian Fellowes, who wrote the original screenplay for Gosford Park in 2001, has previously said it would be ‘great fun’ to make a film of the show, but only after the TV series has ended.
