An Irish homeless man singing on New Year’s Eve left crowds of onlookers speechless in Leeds, serenading the crowd with a stunning performance of ‘Summertime’.

The incredible singer was captured on a video published by The Telegraph, where busker Jonny Walker explained to the paper how he was approached by a homeless man in a wheelchair he had spotted on the street many times before.

Identifying the homeless man as Irishman Bernard Davey, Walker said he was “blown away” by his voice:

“I spend a lot of time playing music on the streets and had seen this man many times over the years, but had never heard him sing.

“He took to the mic and sang Summertime.

“I was blown away by his voice and the passion of his delivery and I asked someone standing nearby to film the encounter on my phone”.

You’ll stop in your tracks when you hear this voice:

According to The Telegraph, Walker is the director of the Keep Streets Live Campaign – a non-profit organisation ‘advocating for public spaces which are open to informal offerings of art and music and against the criminalisation of homelessness.’
