Horror director Neil Marshall is bringing a frightening new immersive experience to Dublin this Halloween

Keeley Ryan

Hallowe’en is almost here.

And this year, there’s a frighteningly immersive experience coming to Dublin – what better way to ring in Halloween?

Renowned horror film director Neil Marshall, famed for his classic gore-filled flicks Dog Soldiers and The Descent – as well directing episodes of Game of Thrones, Hannibal and Westworld – has joined forces with the Kraken Rum to bring you the most horrifying Screamfest to date.

Now, Neil is turning his immense horror movie talents to a unique, immersive bar, where he will be responsible for directing every element of the experience: the story, the characters, the sets and even the drinks.

Every aspect of the bar will be designed to frighten and delight those brave enough to visit.

Marshall said [via Dublin Live]:

“Kraken Screamfest: Director’s Cut will be a one-of-a-kind horror experience, inspired by the legendary sea beast, giving people who love my films the opportunity to step into what lurks within my mind when it comes to these creative processes.

“There are plenty of surprises up my sleeve, and I can promise that this will not be for the faint hearted. The Kraken is famed for explosive experiences, and I’m excited for fans to see a little Hollywood magic sprinkled on its Halloween proceedings.”

Set in a dark location in the depths of Dublin, ‘The Kraken Screamfest: The Director’s Cut’ will be arriving Thursday October 31 and Friday November 1 – with more information to be revealed closer to the date of Halloween.

The event is 60 minutes long, and organisers have said some of it will be outside – where “it will be cold and spine-chilling, so please dress accordingly.”

The tickets include three “devilishly delicious” Kraken Rum cocktails, and cost €10 each. You can find out more about the tickets here.
