We’re all for a bit of ‘Stand By Your Man’ but this story to come out of China is a whole other level of clingy.
Jun Tang was left heartbroken after boyfriend Wu Hsia (21) broke up with her and began to date Rong Tsoa.
Rather than drowning her sorrows in a bucket of Ben & Jerry’s like the rest of us, she decided to try and win him back and spent the next three months pestering Hsia to change his mind.
Obviously, this didn’t go down well with Tsoa, who urged her new boyfriend to cut ties with his ‘bunny boiler’ ex.
According to the Irish Mirror, he decided to meet with both women to discuss the situation but things took a drastic turn when Tang jumped into a river and called her ex to come to her rescue.
“The girls began arguing and the man’s ex-girlfriend felt insulted by a comment made by the new girlfriend, and so she jumped into the river calling for her former lover to save her,” said a police spokesperson.
“The new girlfriend, fearing that he might indeed jump in to save his ex-lover, then jumped in as well and both of them began calling for him to rescue them from drowning.”
Tang’s tactics didn’t work as Hsia remained loyal to his current girlfriend and saved Tsao before taking her to the hospital.
“He called his brother on the way home and told him to go to the river and rescue the ex-girlfriend.”
Emergency services saved Tang from the river and thankfully, neither of the ladies were injured in the incident.
Word to the wise, girls – no man is worth getting pneumonia over!
