The people of Galway pulled together yesterday in an ad-hoc team rescue effort to save a dog's life.
The dog became trapped in the water at the Claddagh Basin in Galway City, BreakingNews.ie reports.
The concrete walls prevented the dog from being able to climb his way back onto the footpath.
Passers-by created a rescue committee on the spot and pulled the dog to safety. Local photographer Steve Maye was there to capture the heartwarming moment on camera.
The photo is now being shared online on Reddit.
