How You Put Your Bra On And What It Says About You

Apparently it tells a lot about your personality.

Laura Holland

I bet half of us don’t even think before we put on a bra.

It’s just part of your routine, like putting on socks or underwear

But apparently the way you put on your bra could tell a lot about your personality. According to Redbook, body language and human behaviour expert, Patti Wood, says that it can show which personality type you are.

She said, “There are four distinct personality types – drivers, influencers, supporters, and careful correctors. They tend to have very unique ways of doing things, even small tasks.

“Everything you do, and the way you do it, comes together to form a story about yourself, and there’s no reason your undergarments shouldn’t be a part of that.”

So when it comes to putting on bras, what does it say about us?

If you use a back-clasp bra, and clasp it in the back

You’re a supporter.

This means that you ‘stick to tradition’ and follow what you’ve been taught. You were probably taught this technique from day one and you’ve continued to use it. This also shows that you are very sociable and so a bra shopping trip with friends is a fun day out for you.

If you clasp your bra in the front, then rotate it to the back

You’re an influencer.

You like to feel appreciated, supported and look well presented in your clothes, including your lingerie. You aren’t afraid to wear more ‘standout bras’ with colours or patterns and are the kind of girl who has an entire drawer for all your bras.

The way your clasp your bra is all about how you present yourself. You want to make sure you match up every clasp and adjust the straps properly.

If you use a front-clasping bra

You’re a driver.

You have a ‘no-time-to-waste’ type of opinion, you would prefer not to have to fiddle with clasps that you can’t see. You use this type of bra to get it on as efficiently as you can and get on with your day.

You like high-quality clothes, to avoid having to shop too often. Especially bra shopping, you wouldn’t be planning any girly bra shopping sprees, instead you make smart, well-researched decisions.

If you clasp your bra once, then slide it over your head

You’re a careful corrector.

This means that you like to make sure things are done right. You need to make sure that the clasps are properly aligned and in place before you put it on. You generally feel the most comfortable in a sports bra.

You don’t really like attention, so when it comes to getting dressed, you prefer a private fitting area. This means you fly solo when you do your clothes shopping and you have reminders for when you need a new bra.
