If you come across a disturbing image/video on your Facebook news feed today DO NOT repost it. According to various news sources online this morning, a pornographic video featuring a child has gone viral on the social networking website.
Thousands of users were shocked when they logged onto their accounts to find the video (which has been described as “incredibly disturbing”) on their news feeds.
It is unknown how the video made its way onto the social networking website, but it quickly went viral as users shared the video in order to alert their friends. According to FoxNews, the video received 16,000 shares and almost 4,000 likes.

If you come across the video or an image from it, report it immediately
There are lots of questions surrounding who uploaded the video, how long it was on Facebook and how fast it spread online.
“Nothing is more important to Facebook than the safety of the people that use our site, and this material has no place on Facebook,” said a spokesperson for the website.
“We have zero tolerance for child pornography being uploaded onto Facebook and are extremely aggressive in preventing and removing child exploitive content,” the spokesperson added.
Facebook has since said that the material was reported to them and that they have removed it, however, one or two screencaps and shares may have slipped through the net.
If you come across the video on the website DO NOT watch it, screencap it or share it. Instead immediately report it.
According to reports there could be legal ramifications with regards to the sharing of the video, however this has yet to be confirmed.
