IN PICTURES: You Won’t Believe What This Limerick Woman Can Do With Face Paint

These are amazing!

We’ve seen a few impressions in our time but we were left gobsmacked by these photos of Limerick woman Maria Malone-Guerbaa.

The talented artist used her skills to transform herself into a series of characters including Nelson Mandela, Queen Elizabeth and Lionel Richie using only facepaint. Unlike many of her peers, Maria did not use prosthetics to achieve the eerily-lifelike results and revealed that while she took a break from her art to raise her family, her works have grown in popularity since she began to post the pictures online.

Maria’s transformations also captured the attention of the International Make Up Artist Trade Show, who have invited her to be a guest speaker this summer. The 40-year-old said that she turned down a place at Limerick School of Art and Design as she felt there were no opportunities in Ireland for people of her ability.

“I felt at the time that there wasn’t anywhere for me to go with what I wanted to do, I didn’t want to be a standard artist. I loved special effects, particularly body and face art,” she said.

“I went to find out about it but there was literally nowhere in Limerick or Ireland that specialised in that kind up of make up art.”
