Instagram TV has been confirmed and it sounds like it’s going to takeover

Big changes are coming to Instagram.

It has been announced that the social networking site is going to introduce a new feature which will see videos of up to an hour being played.

Anyone and everyone will be able to load videos of up to an hour on IGTV.

It will also display the clips full-screen and vertically, the way people naturally hold their phones.

Instagram said in a blog post: “IGTV is different in a few ways. First, it’s built for how you actually use your phone, so videos are full screen and vertical. Also, unlike on Instagram, videos aren’t limited to one minute. Instead, each video can be up to an hour long.”

The video section will feature content from people users already follow on their account, so you won’t need to go on another following spree on Insta.

“Younger audiences are spending more time with amateur content creators and less time with professionals,” Instagram said.

“Like TV, IGTV has channels. But, in IGTV, the creators are the channels. When you follow a creator on Instagram, their IGTV channel will show up for you to watch. Anyone can be a creator — you can upload your own IGTV videos in the app or on the web to start your own channel.”

Many are saying that this new feature will take over YouTube for watching video content.
