This Instagram star lied about an entire trip to Coachella to show ‘so much of it is fake’

And it worked.

Looking at Gabbie Hanna’s Instagram would make you envious.

The social star with 3.8 million followers appears to be jet setting around the world, attending amazing parties and obviously, partying at Coachella.

It looks like the life anyone would die for.

But, as Instagram is ultimately a highlights reel and only 10 percent of someone’s actual life, Gabbie decided to pull a prank to “wake up” her followers on the topic that everything isn’t always as it appears and it worked.

Many thought that Gabbie was at Coachella living her best life when actually, she was faking the entire trip with the help of some deadly outfits and good photoshop.

Speaking about why she did it, Gabbie said:

“People look at people on Instagram and social media, and they think ‘Wow, their life is impossibly perfect’. That body, that vacation, that car – so much of it is fake, and that’s ok.”

“I’m not shading anybody who does that on social media because it is a viable career, but for an average viewer who’s just watching these things and is aspiring for these things, just know that those things aren’t always as attainable as they seem.”

Continuing she told her Instagram followers to think beyond the feed and realise that most of it isn’t actually attainable for anyone, even those in the photo.

“If you’re having trouble attaining these things or you can’t afford to go to these big fancy festivals or you can’t afford those nice clothes or your body doesn’t snap into shape the way they do on these Instagram accounts, just know that it is ok and so much of this is just photo manipulation.”

Gabbie also apologised to her fans for lying to them for the sake of the video but, she just hoped to raise awareness on how all is as it seems and to remember to be grateful for what you have. It’s easy to get sucked into the Instagram comparison hole but it’s also important to remember that it’s not always a true depiction of someone’s life or entire day.
