Ireland’s Aileen Reid Ranked Number One For European Games

Ireland’s Aileen Reid, who is currently ranked sixth on the World Triathlon Series leader board, is heading into this weekend’s Baku European Games as the top ranked European triathlete. Reid has been performing steadily in the World Series to date, notching a 7^th, 6^th and 4^th place finish in her last three races. Looking ahead to Baku, Reid will face stiff competition in the form of Olympic gold and silver medallists Nicola Spirig and Lisa Norden. Indeed, there's a big prize on offer as the winner at the European Games will automatically qualify for Rio 2016, so all eyes will be on Reid in her green jersey on Saturday morning, June 13th.   The race will be shown live on Setanta Ireland at 8.30am.
