Given that it was certainly one of the most popular series of the year so far with certainly one of the best casts, it is no wonder that everyone is waiting on news about series two of True Detective.
Well, as a nation, we have way more of a reason to be hugely invested in the next series. Rumour has it that none other than Colin Farrell is currently in talks for the second series of the show.
Sources have confirmed that Farrell is in talks and is the first actor to be approached about the project in months following a lot of rumours about casting, including speculation about Jessica Chastain.
“I think the people we will cast will be well-known names,” HBO president Michael Lombardo claimed at Thursday’s TCA presentation. “But that wasn’t our ambition (in season 1).”
“It takes place in California — not Los Angeles, but some of the much lesser known venues of California — and we’re going to try to capture a certain psychosphere ambiance of the place, much like we did in season 1.”
Although it was initially rumoured that the co-star for the upcoming series may have been female, it seems that Taylor Kitsch may also be in talks for the upcoming season.
If this is true, it’s probably one of the best career moves for Farrell who hasn’t really starred in a lot of mainstream TV shows. We're hugely excited about this one.
