From Sleepless in Seattle, to Worried in Waterford… via Korea.
The helpline segment of a regional Irish breakfast radio show has gone global this week, after a listener in Korea reached out for some love advice.
Beat Breakfast, presented by Her.ie’s pals Niall and Vinny on South East regional radio station Beat Breakfast, counts the Daily Dilemma as one of its most well-known and popular features. The affable pair solve such pressing matters as ‘How do you tell the girl you've been dating that you don't actually remember her name?', 'How do you tell your grandad you think your granny's cheating with the neighbour?' or 'I've found the love of my life, but how do I get out of the friend-zone?' on a daily basis for their loyal listeners.

It seems though, that the Daily Dilemma's audience stretches far beyond the boundaries of the South East of Ireland, because Korean listener Soo-Jin Lee sent an email from South Korea during the week, asking the Beat Breakfast crew to help with her dilemma, and it would melt your heart. Soo-Jin wrote…

im 22 years and korean girl in south korea i have a boy friend who is italian korean. we have been meeting for 2 monthes.
our relationship had not any troubles before but nowadays he told me thathe should go back to his country soon.
actually i thought that we could keep our relationship even if its long distance relationship and i was about to try my best to keep our relationship but he said that our relationship would be hopeless and tragic..
i feel frustrated and disappointed about his words. what should we do?

Lovelorn Soo-Jin followed up with another email to explain that she wants to learn English, and because she particularly enjoys the Irish accent she decided to listen online to the radio station. The Beat Breakfast crew will be tackling Soo-Jin's Dilemma tomorrow morning after 8am, and if they’re in need of an agony aunt we hereby offer our services to the lads. Stay strong Soo-Jin!
