Children are amazing. Fact. No matter what life throws at them, they manage to handle it with humour, an optimistic outlook and the kind of strength that most of us adults just don’t possess.
The Huffington Post reports that Robyn Rosenberger is a woman who recognised this inherent strength that children have and decided to highlight it in a really touching way.
Ms Rosenberger launched TinySuperheroes, an organisation that makes superhero capes for children living with disabilities or serious illnesses. She then posts their stories to her website in the hopes that it will empower the children and illustrate just how strong they are.

So how did TinySuperheroes begin? Ms Rosenberger said that she was inspired to start making the capes after she read a story about Brenna, a one-year-old who had a rare skin disorder. Inspired by Brenna’s strength and tenacity, Ms Rosenberger got in contact with Brenna’s parents and asked if she could make the child a cape.
“[Brenna’s mom] was ecstatic and told me that they have been calling Brenna their superhero since she was born,” said Ms Rosenberger.
Once Brenna’s story started to spread, Ms Rosenberger’s mission completely took over. At present she’s sent off 300 capes to sick children across America.

People can nominate superheros on the TinySuperheroes website and can donate $33 to the cause. Zarrly, the company which processes Ms Rosenberger’s orders, has now committed to donating capes to every single child hospitalized in Boston after the explosions earlier this week.

“[TinySuperheroes] exemplify strength and determination as they overcome adversity. We feature them... in hopes of giving them a voice, their illness or disability a face...” wrote Ms Rosenberger on her blog.
We think this is an absolutely brilliant idea and we can only imagine the amount of joy the colourful capes bring to these tiny heroes.
