Is this the cheapest pub in Ireland? Inn goes on sale for a crazy low price

Cassie Delaney

Owning a café or a bar is probably the single most commonly shared dream in the world.

Rarely does the chance present itself but for some keen entrepreneur, this pub in Roscommon could be the start of an empire.

Formerly the Kilbride Inn, this pub is the only one in the parish. The dwelling is a pub and house combo, with the ground floor being the pub and lounge while upstairs is a 4-bedroom home. It has a large carpark and a tonne of land around the back too.

It needs a bit of love and imagination, but as bids start at just €28,000, chances are you’ll be able to spare a few quid for the décor.

Kilbride itself is 10km north of Roscommon town and 34km west of Longford. The pub is located in an area known as Four Mile House on the main Roscommon to Strokestown route.

The online auction begins today and so far there have been no bids.

The pub also sits on an amazing 4.5 acres of land so if the bar doesn’t work out, you can always open two football pitches instead.

Kilbride itself is a small area made up of two parts; Fourmilehouse and Derrane. It’s quaint, secluded and remote with a cosy population of about 1300. The Fourmilehouse cluster of the parish consists of a Community Centre, housing for the Elderly, a childcare centre, a national school, church and parochial house and a mini-bus.

The Derrane cluster of the Parish consists of a church, school, community centre, and a centre for people with disabilities.
